The name Comfrey is thought to be derived from the Latin confervere or con firma, which means "to grow together". One of the folk names for Comfrey is "knitbone" and it has a long history in folk medicine and herbalism. The botanical name symphytum is derived from the Greek work sympho which means "to unite".
Comfrey is a powerful addition to travel spells and sachets, to protect you whilst you are away from home. A sachet of comfrey can be worn when travelling to ensure protection, and comfrey can be packed in your luggage to make sure it doesn't go astray!
Comfrey can be used in dark moon and banishing rituals to aid you in releasing negative patterns, and especially for cutting your ties to negative relationships. Burnt with Mugwort it will aid your concentration and visualization for all spell and ritual work.
